Playing drums with pads is great. You get a sense of physical interaction that no beats drawing can match. Playing with a multitouch drum pad should be also great. But most of them simply don’t feel right: the pads are too tiny, and it’s easy to push the wrong instrument by mistake.
But what if you could build your very own drumpad on your iPad and distribute the percussion elements just the way it feels more comfortable? Actually, you can.
Building a customized drumpad in Conductr is very easy:
Load a Drum Rack in a MIDI track.
Load the Claydr MIDI keyboard module in Conductr, select a scale and the octaves you will play in each row.
Load the samples you want to play with your Drum Rack and assign them to the Claydr keys you want them to be in, so it will make a more comfortable performance interface.
You can customize each row’s Velocity parameter or even activate the Bend mode to get pitch drops while playing.
And that’s it!
